July 16, 2004 -- With the election season upon us, the avalanche of political t-shirts flooding the internet has hit giant proportions.
Many of the internet t-shirt companies are pitting Democrats against Republicans, profiting from both sides of the fence.
One company stands alone on the internet "Bush You're Fired T-Shirt" (www.bushyourefiredt-shirt.com).
As opposed to trying to strictly profit from this election, Bush You're Fired T-Shirt (www.bushyourefiredt-shirt.com) has decided to donate a portion of each item sold from its website to fund the John Kerry for President Campaign.
WWW.bushyourefiredt-shirt (The Official Bush You're Fired T-Shirt website) started as the grass roots idea of Darren Gast and Adam Scheeler to do what they believed in politically and make a difference, with a website touting "Changing America One Shirt at a Time".
"When we came up with the t-shirt idea "Bush You're Fired" we really just wanted our voices to be heard. We wanted to give the average American a way to show their dislike for the Bush administration, from everything from the war in Iraq, to the economy, to American jobs sent overseas."
"The Bush You're Fired T-Shirt is a peaceful way to express a political opinion and to help a cause we whole heartedly believe in."
"We have seen the good work Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream have done by donating to causes that they felt were important and we thought we could follow that same path by giving America back to the people by supporting John Kerry."
"It is amazing how many people on the street come up and ask where to get the t-shirt."
"I went to see the new Michael Moore Movie and people were just going nuts over the t-shirt. Then you tell them about the fact that we are donating a portion of each item sold off the website to the Kerry campaign and they have smiles so big, you would swear they just won the lottery or something. It really makes you feel good." stated Darren Gast proudly wearing a Bush You're Fired T-Shirt.
There are many political t-shirts to come and go before the election in November, but will their be anymore that will put their money where their politics are?
